From Native American Remedy to The Worlds Best Researched Echinacea
When you have decided to use an herbal dietary supplement isn’t it true that what you want to be sure of is: does it work and is it safe? This is no less true of echinacea. Echinacea is an herb that has been used traditionally for immune support for hundreds of years. There is evidence that Native Americans have used Echinacea for more than 400 years as a general cure all. From them the early pioneers learned to use Echinacea for immune support. It’s use was so widespsread Echinacea was included in the U.S. National Formulary from 1916 – 1950, when it was pushed aside by modern pharmacueticals.
In 1955 during a research trip to the Dakotas Alfred Vogel, renowned Swiss Naturopath Alfred Vogel struck up a friendship with Ben Black Elk, a Lakota healer. Vogel learned about the power of the beautiful Echinacea plant from Black Elk and was given a handful of seeds as a gift. It took a few years to get the plants acclimatized so they grew well in the Swiss mountains. But soon Dr. Vogel had enough healthy Echinacea plants to start making his own tinctures. In his own words “I couldn’t get the plant off my mind. I experimented on myself with Echinacea many times and I am amazed even now, how broad and intensive its effects are.” This was the beginnings of Echinaforce.
Echinacea was valued based on years of empirical evidence, although the mode of action was not known. As a scientist and researcher Alfred Vogel determined to change this. Starting with his own research and experiments, he eventually set up the A. Vogel Foundation to promote and support studies in traditional plant medicine and scientific phytotherapy. Thus began the research to unlock the secrets of Echinacea and establish proof of efficacy. Bioforce AG, founded by Vogel, has, for many years, invested in international research studies, using the most advanced technology available. In fact in 2006 the National Institutes of Health recognized Bioforce for its Echinacea research in the prestigious Annual Bibliography of Significant Advances in Dietary Supplement Research. To date, there are 8 clinical trials published in respected journals, pointing to the efficacy of Echinaforce for immune support.
Today, the mode of action of Echinaforce is clearly understood. So we know Echinaforce is effective. What about safety? Echinaforce has an excellent safety record. Since its introduction in 1955, three billion daily dosages have been sold in more than 17 countries. In 1987 Bioforce began its adverse event reporting system. Only 99 adverse events have been reported world wide. These were mainly gastrointestinal symptoms.
Before Echinaforce liquid can be purchased by you, more than 100 quality control tests have been performed, beginning with the fresh plant. The tablets require an additional 90 QC tests. So when you need immune support, don’t settle for anything less than the Worlds Best Researched Echinacea – Echinaforce.
